Working Together

I work with adults (18+) and offer weekly sessions to individuals on either a short-term (typically 6-10 sessions) or a long-term (10+ sessions) basis. Each session lasts 50 minutes and normally takes place at the same time and same day each week.

As we get used to a post-lockdown world, I will continue to offer online sessions in the first instance. I have limited spaces for face-to-face meetings in London Bridge (SE1). I am also looking into the possibility of working outdoors in SE London. Please let me know if this is something that interests you.

My fee for a 50 minute session (including initial consultations) is £70 for online & £85 for in person and is due at the end of the session. I will send you my bank details prior to our first meeting to facilitate this. For cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice, the session fee is still due. If I cancel, the fee is not payable for that session.

Please note that I take breaks at regular intervals over the year, including half term and school holidays. I will always endeavour to give you as much notice as possible for any planned absences and I ask that you do the same. In the case of missed sessions, I will do my best to offer you an alternate day and time but I may not always be able to do so.

First Steps

Our first session is a mutual assessment and an opportunity for us to learn more about each other. This meeting normally involves taking a brief personal history and exploring your reasons for seeking therapy. By the end of the session we should both have a good idea of whether we would like to work together - although you are under no obligation to take up therapy at this point.

If we decide to continue, we will then enter into an agreement according to what would best meet your needs. This will make clear the confidential nature of the sessions, the cancellation policy and establish our commitment to work together in regular weekly sessions. This 'contract' will be reviewed by us at regular intervals.

Working Safely Online

I use Zoom to host secure, encrypted video calls. Using an end-to-end encrypted online platform is essential for maintaining the highest possible security and confidentiality for our sessions. Prior to our scheduled meeting, I will send you an email with the login details.

To ensure your wellbeing, safety and privacy, please be mindful of where you are for our video call. Choose a well-lit and comfortable place to sit; preferably somewhere that is quiet and private, where you won’t be interrupted. You may want to consider using headphones or earbuds to improve the sound quality, as well as to minimise the session being overheard. If in a public space, keep in mind that your screen may be visible to others and your focus on the session may compromise your awareness of your surroundings. Similarly, you may find that sensitive and emotionally laden material comes up during the session; be mindful of how you may feel if this happens in a public space.

Please note that I am based in England and, therefore, work under the jurisdiction of the laws of England and Wales. This would form part of our working agreement.
